Business Information Technology is the science of designing, developing and using IT and communication systems to support business processes. Business Information Technology is a scientific discipline that combines Business Administration and IT.
Completion of this course is also a basis for possible further education.
The Bachelor of Science in Business Information Technology is recognised throughout Switzerland, is compatible with European universities and counts as a university degree.
The new Bachelor of Business Information Technology is aimed primarily at graduates with a vocational qualification and a school-leaving certificate from a German-speaking school or college in the Espace Mittelland.
It is also aimed at graduates with a technical qualification (with additional language training in English) and graduates with an IT vocational qualification from i-ch (with additional entrance examination).
This programme is based on the principles and objectives, and how they are postulated for the information and knowledge society on a national and international level.
This includes in particular the targeted use of information and communications technologies (ICT) as "enabling technologies" in all sectors of the economy to redesign business models, support business processes and meet information and interaction requirements using electronic distribution channels.
