Business Information Technology is the science of designing, developing and using IT and communication systems to support business processes. Business Information Technology is a scientific discipline that combines Business Administration and IT.

Completion of this course is also a basis for possible further education.

As a Business Information Technology specialist, you will ensure that the business units, customers and partners receive the best possible support thanks to clever, customised use of ICT in their daily business. You will design business and distribution models, help with the reorganisation and redesign of business processes, often with the assistance of an external partner. Together with managers, specialists and administration staff as well as technical experts, you will develop applications, services, systems and networks for customised data, information and knowledge management.

Managing complex projects

You will manage complex projects and be responsible for

  • Integrating new solutions into existing environments and adapting business process to the possibilities of ICT

At a university of applied sciences which distinguishes itself by its emphasis on work experience, teaching focuses on helping students to achieve a professional qualification by completing a Bachelor degree. It is the standard degree for the majority of students.
Interested graduates with a Bachelor degree have the opportunity to develop the theory and practice of the discipline on a Master programme. With a Master degree they can take executive management positions, or go into research or teaching in the area of Business Information Technology. Master programmes are currently in the pipeline throughout Switzerland.

Graduates of the Bachelor course have the option of continuing their theoretical and practical studies in their field by taking a Master's degree. Graduates with a Master's degree are qualified to work in responsible posts with higher status, in management, research and teaching in the field of information technology. The corresponding Master's courses are current in the process of being prepared throughout Switzerland.
