Business Information Technology

Business Information Technology is the science of designing, developing and using IT and communication systems to support business processes. Business Information Technology is a scientific discipline that combines Business Administration and IT.

Completion of this course is also a basis for possible further education.

The skills and knowledge you acquire will qualify you to take on corresponding functions and tasks in a company or administration, in particular managing interdisciplinary projects involving business, administration and process management on the one hand and information and communications technologies on the other.

The Business Information Technology course qualifies you to

  • grasp business ideas and processes based on business knowledge and methods, 
  • analyse, document, design and optimise business and administration processes and represent them in IT processes, 
  • plan the collection, processing, transmission, storage and use of data and information, structure data and information, and design and develop data models, 
  • ensure the availability and security of data and information security as well as data protection, 
  • analyse, design and develop ICT strategies and basic information architectures, 
  • optimise functionality, quality and efficiency of information systems and assess technologies and their use in specific situations, 
  • plan, manage, communicate and implement projects, 
  • plan, operate and manage ICT services, outsourcing projects, support and data centres, as well as 
  • provide clients and all parties concerned with complete and clear information in a timely manner.
