Course participants will be required to have a good knowledge of both German and English.
Most of the course modules are conducted in German. If your first language is not German, you will need to be competent in German at an advanced level (C1), e.g. hold a Goethe-Zertifikat C1 or the equivalent. However, applicants should have a good command of English (i.e. C1 level or CAE or 6.5 – 7.0 IELTS score) as much of the literature on the subject is in English and some of the courses are held in English. The International Program courses are all held in English. It may thus be advisable for you to take an intensive course in English before starting your course of studies.

Students who have completed modules  at another university (or equivalent institutions locally or abroad) may apply for credit. Please complete the application form Request  of recognition (Downloads). This will allow the administration to check whether courses are considered equivalent to modules taught at the Bern University of Applied Sciences. The application will only be examined after admission to the degree programme. The deadline is 31 of July 2013.
